We loved him.R/Dallas is a home for discussion and content related to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Our waiter, I am really sorry to say, I can't remember his name (I want to say Craig) was super nice, and ran his hind-end off. We got a free cookie with our YELP checking so we got a chocolate chip brownie stuffed cookie (they gave us two) and they were delish as well. I am not a sweet fan so the powdered sugar pushed it too far for me, but my husband LOVED it. All of this was sprinkled with powdered sugar. It was two really sweet vanilla tasting waffles with strawberries and house made whip cream, piled with 3 pressure cooked, hand breaded chicken strips, bacon slices and two cream puffs. The size was large and the taste was spot on for something even better than diner food. The sandwich was a 4 star through and through. Now for the good stuff: I had the "Flagship Chicken Sandwich" which was a really tender, juicy pressure cooked chicken breast with spinach, tomato, amazing cheddar cheese (Possibly Tillamook, but if it is they should state that, because it's BOMB!) a spicy chipotle mayo sauce, bacon and a skewer of 3 hand breaded mozzarella sticks. I'll be curious to go back in a couple of months to check the outcome. I'm not sure why this place was opened under staffed, maybe they weren't, they have been open 5 weeks, maybe some of the staff has quit. I can honestly say that I have no idea who the owner was and if it was the lady behind the counter they are in trouble. I know who the owner is, I see them working just as hard and making sure everyone runs smoothly. One thing I can say is, anytime I got to anew restaurant I see the owner. Growing pains happen, we will return and update our review but if this is the way they are going to work, they can not stay in business and that would be a shame. By the time we left there were many tables again that were sitting dirty and lots of people on a waiting list. We waited 15 minutes with lots fo empty table, many people left. We saw a little bit of everyone cleaning the table Mostly the wait staff that is workings their tails of) but taking a little at a time, no buss tray or cart. You could tell there was a lot of dysfunction and people did not know their roll in the process of cleaning. There were 8 table empty of people but covered in dishes from the past diner. (Take a poll of the people waiting, I bet they would rather have a table then paper napkin wrapped tableware.) I digress! I should have taken photos of the seating but I didn't. (To me that's a waste of time if you are swamped and short handed. We went to the counter and the lady was pretty nasty about it, she said "I will get it if I have time." I could tell she really did not like her job. They do this at several places as you wait on a Sunday. Some folks waiting got a cup of coffee while they were waiting and this is a great idea. I also know there is simple common sense and then there is restaurant common sense. I've worked in a restaurant so I understand a bit. Upon arrival there were several people in line in front of us and we got our name on the list and were told a 30 minute wait as expected. We arrived after church on Sunday and this usually means a wait anywhere we go, so we expected it. With that being said you should possibly expect a little disjointedness. This is a new establishment, they have a help wanted sign on the door and are in need of many positions. The food as great, but you can tell a few things right from the get go. First the warning: We will need to try again and see if we can up this review. I have faith that it could be much higher. In A Nut Shell: Food is great, we will have come back and see if we can increase this rating. Food is great still and the service has improved. You can tell they are still trying to work out the kinks and there is room for more stars once that happens. Update: We have returned and the service was outstanding.
